6.12.08 Rainy Day

Mom is on summer vacation now so she and Gabby get to hang out all day. So far we've been doing a lot of walking with the dogs and playing with toys.

Gabby decided to crawl in the blanket basket in the living room. She practiced crawling in and out 5 times!!

Today it flooded in Oshkosh...AGAIN!! Last weekend we had 4 1/2 inches of rain. Mom and Dad's sump pump stopped working so we had water in the basement. It was finally all dry today and the rain started again. Oshkosh got 3 1/2 inches of water in 3 hours. It rained a total of 6 inches. The streets by our house flooded and the water was almost up to the front steps.

Here the water is almost up to the back of the van tires. We had to bail water out of the sump pump hole because the new pump couldn't keep up with all the water that came in the first few hours.

The water came over the sidewalk and about 5 feet up onto the lawn. Our mailbox is right at the curb. Every time a vehicle would drive by it would send a wave coming right towards the front of the house.
