Gabby wanted to model this candle she found in the spare bedroom (which will be her new room). "Hey Mom, take a picture of me and my hand with this candle while I stand on the ladder." She was very specific with her request!!
Step 1: Paint green, tape, and seal with clear acrylic. Piece of cake. Dad thought Mom was crazy for attempting this. He claimed it made his head hurt to even think about it, how can we keep all the layers straight? Mom just rolled her eyes!!
Step 2: Paint light pink, tape, and seal. Dad wondered now how we were going to make some of it a darker pink color and was there really green paint under the tape? In fact, was the original color of the room green, because it looked green. Mom wondered how beige can look like green...we don't ask!! Gabby confirmed that it was not green. (Only to a color blind dad!!)
Step 3: Add more tape for final dark pink stripes, seal, and paint the final color. Dad could see that it was really coming together now, but are we sure we know which taped striped is pink and which is green? He seriously doubted Mom's ability to keep this all straight. Step 3 1/2: Mom labeled the tape and wall for Dad!!
Gabby got sick of all the painting and taping so she decided to read books instead.
All finished and check out those stripes!! See Dad, there really was green under there. Guess Mom knew what she was doing. Was there ever any doubt? Now on to curtains...any ideas? Why do all blackout curtains have to be floor length or dark colors?
